🎮About DiceCreation

Nice to meet you!
I’m DiceCreation, an indie game developer.

Hello there, nice to meet you!
I’m Selena, one of the official site characters!
Nice to meet you.
My name is Lyla. I’m a magic butterfly.

It’s been over four years now since I started out as an indie game developer.

Time really does fly — I feel that more than ever these days.

I’m now working on bringing this site into English, so let me start by introducing myself, the site characters, and what I share here!
🎮My Background
~ DiceCreation’s Timeline ~
- Up to 2008 — Loved games since childhood, and set my sights on working at a game company.
- 2009 onward — My first job hunt. The timing landed right on the Lehman Shock.
- 2010 — Graduated from a vocational school (Game Creator course).
*Looking back, I wish I’d taken the Designer course instead. - 2010 — With the job market frozen solid, my options were extremely limited — and on my very first day, I was transferred from central Tokyo out to Higashihiroshima.
- March 2011 — Left that job, and one week after I got home, the 3/11 earthquake struck.
- 2012 onward — Couldn’t land the work I wanted, let other people’s opinions sway me, and ended up moving to an exploitative company.
- 2013 onward — Classical music and Disney became my closest friends, as a way to cope with stress.
- Up to 2019 — A long stretch of empty years, unable to do what I actually wanted.
- 2020 onward — Took on a new challenge as a VTuber.
- Spring 2022 — Still couldn’t let go of games, rethought everything, and retired.
- Early summer 2022 — Set myself the goal of making indie game development my full-time career.
- That same month — Began development on a title using RPG Maker MZ.
- 2023 — Released it as a free game at first; after one particular update, it reached 1st and 2nd place in the download rankings.

- April 2024 — Released the DLsite version.
- February 2025 — Won the Newcomer Award at the DLsite Awards 2024.
*Reference article: https://game.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/1666732.html - December 2025 — Covered by several game media outlets around the launch.
- December 2025 — Released the Steam version.
- As of September 2026 — Several projects in progress.
① Through September: completed the English version of my first title.
② From mid-September: bringing the official site into English.
③ During October: building a prototype for a 2D action game.

🧝About Selena and Lyla

She was born from a certain tool as a soul given to a blank avatar, and that’s where her story began.
When that chapter ended she was supposed to return to being an empty shell, but some kind of magical reaction carried her over as data, and she was reborn.
An elf who was meant to live an ordinary life chose the path of magic for herself, and before she knew it, she had become a full-fledged mage.
She doesn’t have overwhelming power, but in exchange she can race across a battlefield at the speed of light.

I’ll be here to help liven up the conversation, so nice to meet you!

A magic butterfly who, for some reason, came fluttering down right beside Selena at the very moment she was born.
The ultimate scholar — there is almost nothing she doesn’t know. Like Selena, she’s an official site character.
A single beat of her wings can sweep up everything within a three-kilometer radius — destructive power you’d never imagine from such a small form.
She normally keeps her magic suppressed, so no harm comes of it.
Well, there’s no need to be frightened here.
📝What This Site Covers

I’ll be writing about things related to game development, along with bits of trivia and the things I pay attention to in daily life!

This is the main site, after all!
And since the three of us talk things through like this, even a passing remark can turn into a piece of knowledge, I’d say.

All right, here’s the summary!
- ① Detailed information about my titles
- ② Dev logs, kept spoiler-free
- ③ Music Insights
- ④ Wellness & Beauty
- ⑤ Casual game play journals
- ⑥ Trivia on any topic
- ⑦ And more…

Those are the broad categories — things branch out from there!

The site has Categories set up, so you’ll be able to find the more specific articles easily!
💻Why I Want to Make Indie Games for a Living

So, about this “goal” of mine — which is really the main topic here…
Mm-hmm.

Before I get into it… IT has evolved unbelievably fast.
The days when I was playing on the Super Famicom (the SNES) went by as if by magic, and yet I can still recall them like they were yesterday.

You can still picture exactly how it felt back then… you were completely absorbed in it.

And now we live in an age where a single person can make and sell a game.
My job-hunting timing was terrible, but even after all these years, the feeling I’ve had since childhood — that I want to make games — hasn’t changed at all.

What could only be done in very limited circumstances back in the 80s and 90s is now something anyone can take a shot at.
That feeling matters a great deal. Plenty of people have it, I think… but that alone isn’t enough.
What counts is whether you can lose yourself in it — whether, no matter what wall you run into or what gets in your way, you can throw yourself into finding a way forward, even by a single step.
When you can, your focus holds in a way it never usually does, and you find strength you didn’t know you had.
And if that kind of energy — the sort that pushes past your own limits — rises up in you naturally…
then that, right there, is what you truly love.

That’s Lyla for you. Far better at explaining it than I am…

I’d be so happy if Lyla’s words became the spark for you to find what you truly love!
🔚In Closing

To sum up, on this site I’ll be sharing things centered on what I’m best at.

If it gives even a small hint to other people making games, or to anyone curious about what goes on behind the scenes, that would make us happy!
We look forward to your continued support.
